BECOMING A VOLUNTEER ADVICE WORKER
Volunteer workers are hugely important to the CAB Service. Many Bureaux rely almost totally on volunteer advisers. Here at Fulham CAB we currently do not have anyone available to train volunteer advice workers but we are hoping that we will have later in the year.

The advice-worker training course offered by the CAB Service gives a qualification in Advice Work and takes about 6 - 8 months. Many other CABx are interested in taking on volunteers and if you write to our London Head Office at Citizens Advice, 136-144 City Road, London EC1V 2RL you can request an application form and your details will be circulated around London Bureaux. However, we are always looking for volunteers who can carry out a variety of tasks - general admin tasks, inputting data, filing, updating, running a reception service.

We are also looking for people who are willing to act as advice worker assistants who would be allocated to one or two workers and carry out some of their follow up work and basic administration of cases. We do offer some training for these tasks.

If you are interested in any of the above, please call in or write in and ask for an application form providing the names of two referees. We look forward to hearing from you.
