WHAT DO WE DO?
CAB provide free, independent, impartial and confidential advice.
We have a comprehensive information system and access to specialists
which allows us to give advice and information on a wide variety of
subjects. We also undertake detailed casework, especially on welfare
benefits and debt, in which we have Legal Services Commission Franchise.
Our advisers are a mixture of paid and
volunteer workers, all of whom have undergone a long training course
to develop their communication skills, negotiation skills,
understanding of the legal system and ability to research
information.
WHEN ARE WE OPEN?
Our reception
service and telephone hours for this week, and other ways of
contacting us may be found on our Contact page.
Please note that we do not give advice on reception - we can only make an appointment for you to come at another
time to discuss your problem, or tell you about other organisations
that might be able to help.
WHO CAN WE HELP?
Most of our funding comes from the London
Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, or Trusts and other funding bodies either
aiming to serve Hammersmith and Fulham residents, or from whom we
have sought funds specifically to assist people in Hammersmith & Fulham. We
can therefore only offer advice to people who live, work or study
in the borough, particularly in the SW6, W14
and W6 areas as we are based in the south of the borough.
For residents or others employed or studying in the north of the
Borough (W12 and northern parts of W6) we only offer telephone advice.
If you live, work or study in the north of the Borough and need
an appointment, please contact the Shepherds Bush Advice Centre (tel 020 8753 5910).
